갤러리헤세드는 오는 7월 8일부터 8월 9일까지 드로잉 기획전 《득로잉 : 길을 얻어 이어가기》를 개최합니다. 김옥정, 서연, 이승주, 최나무 네 명의 작가가 참여하여 이어갈 본 전시는 참여한 네 명의 작가들 각자가 사유하고 구축해온 조형 언어의 궤적을 ‘드로잉’이라는 행위를 중심으로 풀어냅니다. 일반적으로 드로잉은 회화 이전의 습작이나 계획으로 간주되곤 했지만, 동시대 작가들에게는 사유의 출발점이자, 감각과 내면의 흐름을 가장 직접적으로 표출할 수 있는 매체로 다시 주목받고 있습니다.

전시 제목 ‘得路仍展(득로잉전)’은 ‘길을 얻는다(得路)’에서 나아가, ‘그 길을 여전히 이어간다(仍)’는 의미를 함께 담고 있습니다. 본 전시는 작가들이 드로잉을 통해 각자의 길을 발견하고, 그 길을 감각과 사유의 흐름 속에서 어떻게 지속해 나가는지를 조명합니다. 작가들에게 드로잉은 단지 손의 흔적이 아닌, 감각을 획득하고 정리하며 다시 이어가는 과정이자 태도로 작용합니다. 특히 이번 전시에서는 드로잉 작업뿐만 아니라, 작가들이 직접 써내려간 손글씨 문장들이 함께 전시되어, 작가들 각자의 감각과 사유의 내면이 언어와 이미지로 나란히 펼쳐질 예정입니다.

Gallery Hesed is pleased to present the group drawing exhibition Tracing the Path: 得路仍展, on view from July 8 to August 9, 2025. Featuring works by Okjung Kim, Seoyeon, Seungjoo Lee, and Namu Choi, this exhibition explores drawing as a sustained and contemplative practice through which each artist articulates and continues their unique visual path.

Traditionally seen as a preparatory stage to painting, drawing has re-emerged in contemporary art as a primary means of expression—an intimate, immediate language that captures the movement of thought and the flow of inner sensation.

The subtitle 得路仍展 derives from classical Chinese, meaning “to find a path, and to continue along it.” It reflects the exhibition’s central inquiry: how does drawing serve not only as a means of discovery, but also as a continuous act of making and becoming? For these artists, drawing is not merely a trace of the hand, but a mode of sensing, organizing, and extending one’s internal rhythms and ideas.

In addition to the visual works on display, each artist presents handwritten reflections that offer intimate insight into their personal processes. These writings are exhibited alongside the drawings, creating a quiet dialogue between image and language, gesture and thought.

Tracing the Path: 得路仍展 invites viewers to experience drawing as more than image-making—rather, as a lived and living act of reflection, resistance, and renewal.
